Tech Tip: Using Sunny Design

SMA’s system planning software, Sunny Design, is a free design tool for creating systems from the ground up. It’s myriad of options mean nearly any variable is accounted for to ensure the most realistic power estimates and inverter recommendations.

In this three-part series, the Solar Academy’s Greg Smith reviews the basic steps to designing a residential system. Each video covers different parts of the process:

  1. Part 1: Entering system location and weather data.
  2. Part 2: Inputting PV module data, azimuth and tilt.
  3. Part 3: Inverter recommendation and selection, generating production estimates and reports.
