SMA Wins Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association Award
The Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA) hosted the inaugural COSEIA Solar and Energy Storage Awards yesterday in Denver, Colorado, where they acknowledged projects that exemplify innovation and the spirit of Colorado’s clean energy movement. The organization recognized SMA’s St. Eustatius Solar Hybrid System project as the best in the Solar Connector Innovation- Energy Storage category.
The COSEIA Solar and Energy Storage Awards focused on the people, processes, products and the innovation that drive the industry forward to achieve success in a competitive market.
During the ceremony, COSEIA highlighted projects nominated in seven categories that encompassed various project sizes and products.
“We have long known that the ingenuity and creativity of the Colorado solar industry has fueled our success, and the caliber of nominees underscores that excellence,” said Rebecca Langton, a COSEIA board member and chair of the awards event.
SMA’s St. Eustatius Solar Hybrid System features a clean energy supply that allows the utility company on the Caribbean island to switch off the diesel generators completely during the day. This will save 1.7 million liters of diesel fuel and 4,500 metric tons of CO2 every year. The system proved to be resilient, as it resisted the impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the region.
At SMA, we are thrilled to win this award, which is a testament to our leadership in solar and storage technology. Thanks, COSEIA!
