SMA ranked as top PV inverter supplier for fifth straight year by IHS

IHS Global Insight, widely regarded as one of the most accurate economic forecasting firms in the world, has ranked SMA as the top global supplier of PV inverters for 2013. This is the fifth-straight year SMA has earned the top ranking in the report from the Power & Energy service of IHS.

According to the report, “The rate at which the solar landscape has transformed has been incredible, and it has initiated a major shift in the competitive environment for PV inverter suppliers,” said Sam Wilkinson, solar research manager at IHS.

In the face of this dramatically changing marketplace and its continually increasing competition, SMA has proudly held its lead in PV inverter market share lead since 2008 when IHS began reporting for the category.
