This has been a year full of milestones for SMA’s Latin American subsidiary, where the team has continued to grow and solidify its role as a major player in the global solar energy market.

New, Modern Office Space

SMA opened its doors to a brand-new office in São Paulo, Brazil. In August, the team welcomed its closest partners and customers in the region to celebrate the new, modern office location - strategically located in the city’s Vila Mariana district, moving closer to the heart of Brazil’s thriving photovoltaic market.

Special guests in attendance included Daniel Rosende, Managing Director of SMA Latin America, and Boris Wolff, Executive Vice President of Global Sales, Service & Marketing for SMA Solar Technology. The event was marked with tours of the new space with a toast to the future of SMA.

Stellar Turnout at Intersolar South America

An exciting experience at Intersolar followed the unveiling of the subsidiary’s new office space.

In August, the team from SMA Latin America attended Intersolar South America, the largest event on the continent focused on solar and clean energy. This was SMA’s third year participating in the trade show, which took place at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, Brazil.

SMA was among more than 400 companies in attendance at the event, which welcomed a total of 44,000 visitors  during the three-day event.

At its booth, SMA showcased a variety of solutions to support an increasingly sustainable, decentralized and digitalized new energy model. On display were SMA’s home, business and large scale solutions as well as centralized management for high-powered PV plants and technological innovations, products and applications.

A few specific solutions on display included:

  •  The new generation of the Sunny Tripower X: The innovative, three-phase system solution for commercial and larger private PV systems
  •  The SMA EV-charger : A solution integrated with SMA PV inverters that can flexibly use grid or solar power, with operation controlled by the SMA Energy App via smartphone
  • The SMA Data Manager: A device which controls solar energy generation, storage systems, energy consumption and vehicle charging in one interactive platform

In addition, SMA representatives and product experts were on hand for presentations and networking with potential customers, vendors and partners.

Over the course of the show, SMA had more than 650 people visit its booth from regions all around Brazil and countries throughout South America. The team in South America regarded the show a huge success and is eager to return again in 2023.
