About Solar & Storage in Mexico
Mexico’s geographic location allows for some of the best daily irradiance levels in the world and the market for solar is thriving due to increased demands for distributed generation and utility-scale projects. Primary energy demand in Mexico has increased by 25 percent since 2000 and the country continues to rank in the top five for expected new solar capacity.
SMA Mexico at Solar Power World
SMA’s commitment to the region is clear with the formation of SMA Mexico and its engagement with four SMA Authorized Distributors, including at national events like Solar Power Mexico. SMA products were featured in our partner’s booths, the SMA team held technical talk sessions for attendees and the SMA brand was highlighted through joint sales, marketing, and educational activities.
SMA Mexico Regional Sales Manager Arturo Blake – who attended the event and led the booth talks – noticed that participants continue to become more well versed in PV. “The interest and expertise shown by event visitors is a reminder that Mexico is eager for the latest solar technology and reliable solutions from solutions for the residential segment to commercial projects and beyond,” he noted.
SMA Mexico Sales Director Ivan Michel also attended Solar Power Mexico and echoed the importance of having strong partners in Mexico. Michel pointed out, “SMA has partnered with a strong group of distributors in Mexico which helps us support all segments of the industry. We value our relationships with BayWa r.e. Mexico, Exel Solar, Krannich Solar Mexico and PROINSO / Solar Power Group.
“Our distribution model is designed to offer the best of SMA through these important partners and we look forward to continued growth alongside them,” he added.
SMA and its distributor partners have participated at Solar Power Mexico for many years and look forward to 2022 when the event takes place in Leon, Guanajuato, from July 5 – 7.
