New PUK Process: Simplifying Access to Your SMA Inverter
When it comes to managing your SMA inverter, we understand that quick and easy access is essential. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce a streamlined process for obtaining a Personal Unblocking Key (PUK) code for inverters with firmware versions older than 4.xx. You can now generate a new password anytime you need it, 24/7.
Why This Matters
Inverters are a crucial part of your solar energy system and maintaining access to them is extremely important to ensure they are operating efficiently. Whether you’re a homeowner or a solar professional, losing access due to forgotten passwords can be frustrating. With the new PUK process, you no longer need to worry. The process of retrieving a PUK code is faster and more convenient than ever before.
For Firmware Older Than 4.xx
If your inverter runs on firmware older than 4.xx, retrieving a PUK code is now a breeze. Here’s how you can do it:
- Log into the SMA Online Service Center: If you don’t already have an account, it’s easy to create one. Simply visit the SMA Online Service Center to get started
- Select “Self Help” from the Menu: Navigate to the top menu and choose “Self Help”
- Choose “PUK – Personal Unblocking Key”: From the drop-down menu, select this option
- Enter Your Device’s Serial Number: Input the serial number of the inverter needing the PUK code
- Receive Your PUK Code Instantly: The code will be generated and provided to you immediately
For Firmware 4.xx and Newer
(e.g., SHP-21, SHP-20, CORE1-US-41/CORE1-US-40, if updated to the latest version)
If your inverter operates on firmware version 4.xx or newer, please continue using the PUK 2.0 procedure. This method remains the recommended approach for these recent firmware versions.
A Solution for Everyone
This new PUK process is designed not just for professionals but for homeowners too. Anyone who needs access to their inverter can now easily retrieve their PUK code following the same simple steps.
