New Jersey installers eager to use SMA micro inverters
Always looking for the next great product, the teams at Paradise Solar and Electrical, LLC and K4 Solar have decided to make a change and install the Sunny Boy 240-US micro inverter system at a recent Layalelle, New Jersey install.
Their customer recently finished rebuilding their home after Hurricane Sandy, taking the opportunity to rebuild with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, including geo-thermal heating and, of course, solar power. With enough roof space for 20 modules, the homeowners worked with the tandem team from Paradise and K4 to design, install and commission the system.
Change is good
After experimenting with other micro inverter systems and being disappointed, the teams from Paradise and K4 hadn’t found a set-up that met their expectations. Having trusted SMA string inverters for many years already, they contacted the supplier team at Krannich Solar for a recommendation and were happy to hear praise for the Sunny Boy 240-US.
The 5.2kW system was installed and commissioned with ease, earning high marks from the installation team. Its 20 Axitec 260-watt modules sit atop Everest racking and the micro inverters.
Power is fed through the Multigate XT2, where the Multigate’s communication and system management capabilities provide increased reliability eliminate communication interference.
Looking to the future
Building energy efficiency and sustainability into future plans for energy generation help make the most of an investment in solar. Proper system sizing is crucial, especially if energy demands will be reduced because of other retrofitting to the home.
Just as future energy demands are important to plan for, it’s also crucial to plan for system reliability and ease of installation. The installation team had the future in mind when choosing SMA. When quality and reliability matter most, SMA shines the brightest.
I have always thought the SMA Sunny Boy Micro-Inverters from SMA were underrated. This goes to show SMA has high quality solar micro-inverters. It would be great to see them make their way into the market more.
