Intersolar North America 2025 will bring together industry leaders, cutting-edge technology and critical policy discussions February 25-27 in San Diego. As the solar and storage landscape continues to evolve, engaging with key conversations and innovations will be essential for industry professionals.

SMA America will play a significant role in these discussions, covering both policy and technological advancements. From federal policy shifts impacting solar and storage to advanced design tools streamlining installations, SMA’s experts have the privilege to be leading some key conversations while at the conference.

Federal Policy: What’s Next for Solar and Storage

Anthony Laurita, Government Affairs Manager at SMA America, will join a panel at Intersolar North America 2025 to examine these most recent changes in federal policy and their implications for the future of renewable energy.

“With a new administration and Congress in place, federal policy on solar and storage is at a turning point,” says Laurita. “From tax incentives to trade policies, the decisions made in the coming months will shape the industry’s future. This panel is about cutting through the noise, understanding what’s coming and helping businesses navigate the changes ahead.”

The session, IRA and Beyond: Federal Solar and Storage Policy in the New Administration, will take place on Tuesday, February 25, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM PT in Room 32AB at the San Diego Convention Center. Laurita will be joined by Tom Starrs of EDP Renewables and Suzanne Leta of Fluence, with Mark Crowdis of 127 Energy moderating.

The discussion will explore:

  • The future of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and tax incentives
  • How new executive orders and policies will shape clean energy
  • Federal priorities for solar and storage manufacturing, tariffs, and trade
  • Legislative opportunities and challenges under the 119th Congress
  • The impact of these policies on investment, deployment, and innovation in the industry

Technology in Action: Live Demo with K2 Systems and SMA America

In addition to policy discussions, Intersolar 2025 will feature a live demonstration at the K2 Systems booth, where SMA America’s Director of Distribution, Brandon Davis, will showcase how SMA’s Sunny Design Web integrates with K2 Base. This collaboration streamlines system design and inverter stringing to optimize efficiency and performance.

“In an industry that moves fast, efficiency and precision matter,” says Davis. “The collaboration between SMA and K2 brings together the best of racking and inverter technology to simplify the design process and optimize system performance.”

The demo will highlight:

  • How to design a residential solar project using K2 Base
  • How the K2 Base API bridge connects with SMA Sunny Design Web
  • Strategies for stringing inverters for optimal performance
  • How SMA and K2 are improving installation efficiency?

For a deeper look at the long-standing partnership between SMA America and K2 Systems, revisit Brandon Davis’ interview at RE+ 2022, where he shares how both companies are working together to drive innovation and efficiency in solar installations.
