Mexico has positioned itself as one of the most attractive regions on the planet for solar development and it plays an increasingly important role in SMA’s regional growth.

GTM Research forecasts Latin America to account for 11 percent of the global PV demand (up from 3 percent in 2017) and the Mexican market to have 16GW of cumulative PV installed capacity by 2022 with an upside of close to 20GW.

At the Greentech Media Solar Summit Mexico 2018, top executives and thought leaders in the solar industry, including SMA Senior Application Engineer Carmen Garralaga, will share their expertise speaking about the challenges and opportunities in the Mexican market for distributed generation of solar energy.

SMA America recently opened a new subsidiary in Mexico that will reinforce sales and service efforts in the country. It will also establish a local SMA presence that will better serve the company’s customers there, providing greater access to SMA expertise and resources. In establishing the office, SMA will position itself to better support its growing global business.
