Intersolar 2012
SMA America had a great week in San Francisco during the Intersolar North America conference and exhibition, held July 9 – 12, 2012. This was SMA’s biggest presence to date at the show and our first year exhibiting at the show.
SMA America Exhibit
Traffic at the 1,500-square-foot booth was high as visitors stopped by to learn more about products including the Sunny Boy 240-US micro inverter, the SMA Medium-Voltage Power Platform, the Off-Grid Configurator and Smartformer for Sunny Island systems, the Sunny Island 6048-US and the Sunny Boy 6000-11000TL-US series.
In addition to exhibiting at the show, SMA had a strong showing at Solar Summerfest as the Terrace Bar Sponsor during th
e opening night networking event held at the City View Metreon Rooftop and overlooking the San Francisco skyline.
San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee stopped by Solar Summerfest and shared a few words about the need for renewable energy sources.
“We’re going to do everything we can to continue the dialog for the whole country and the world,” he said. “We can do better, we must do better, in creating an energy source that is sustainable for all of our citizens, for generations to come. Yes, we are saving the world.”
SMA Band, The Voltiacs
The Voltaics, the SMA America band, rocked the house during the Solar Battle of the Bands concert. The band’s high-energy sound kept the crowd moving, especially during a performance of the B-52s’ “Love Shack.”
Intersolar North America provided a great opportunity for the SMA team, including the Sunny PRO Club and the Solar Academy, to connect with new and valued partners. Nearly 50 SMA employees made the trip to San Francisco including a couple of our international colleagues.
Next up for SMA America is the largest trade show in North America, Solar Power International, which takes place Sept. 10-13, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
