By taking these steps in advance, you’ll save time and avoid potential issues during commissioning. Having the latest firmware ensures smooth operation and prevents potential issues during the commissioning process. Equally important is downloading the correct SMA 360° app, which will be your go-to tool for commissioning, monitoring and troubleshooting the system.

Step 1: Download and Verify the SMA 360° App: 

Make sure you have the SMA 360° app installed, available for both iOS and Android devices. To confirm you have the most up-to-date version, visit the App Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices. If your app is outdated, please update it to the latest version. 

Step 2: Confirm that the Sunny Boy Smart Energy is Ready for Commissioning: 

Once the AC and DC are powered on, verify that the green and red lights on the Sunny Boy Smart Energy cover are blinking in unison—this process may take up to 10 minutes to initiate.

Step 3: Ensure Your Device Has the Latest Firmware: 

In the SMA 360° app, click on “Set up” from the main menu, then select “Manual update” to begin updating the firmware. To save time at the job site, download the latest firmware directly to your mobile device before you go. It will automatically be stored in your downloads folder, so you’re ready to commission right when you arrive.
