Representative Kiley,

America is experiencing a solar and energy storage renaissance, driving economic growth, strengthening energy independence and creating tens of thousands of high-paying manufacturing jobs. Thanks to policies like the Renewable Energy Tax Credits in the Inflation Reduction Act, the nation is poised to lead the world in clean energy innovation.

The numbers speak for themselves. In 2024, a new solar project was installed every 54 seconds. Solar became the first renewable technology in 80 years to account for most new energy additions to the U.S. grid, representing 84% of all new generating capacity. This momentum is not only historic, but also essential. With rising electricity demand projected to reach its highest levels since World War II, deploying new energy solutions that are both reliable and sustainable is critical. Solar and energy storage provide the fastest, most cost-effective way to strengthen the grid while providing homeowners and renters more autonomy over their energy resources.

Recent polling data confirms that this is not a partisan issue. A remarkable 87% of Americans support federal incentives for solar and storage, and nearly 9 in 10 voters across the political spectrum back the clean energy tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act. In today’s divided political climate, it is refreshing to see widespread agreement on the importance of domestic manufacturing and a strong solar and storage industry. These investments are not only creating jobs in communities across the country but also ensuring that America remains a global leader in energy production.

Solar is helping meet the surging demand for electricity while reducing costs for American families and businesses. The solar and energy storage industry is accelerating economic growth and positioning the U.S. for energy dominance in a rapidly evolving global market.

Now is not the time to slow this momentum. Policies that foster domestic manufacturing, clean energy development and grid resilience must remain in place. The Renewable Energy Tax Credits are not just good for business, they are simply good for America.

Rep. Kevin Kiley has an opportunity to support policies that sustain this economic and energy progress. A vote to support solar is a vote for jobs, energy independence and economic leadership.

On behalf of the thousands of workers and businesses driving America’s clean energy future,
