SMA Highlights at Intersolar 2018

Shortly after the FIFA World Cup gets under way, so too does Intersolar 2018 in Munich on June 20. The world’s leading trade fair for the solar industry will look toward a world in the midst of an energy transformation: more decentralized, more digital and featuring more solar power. So what does the energy supply of the future need? What solutions are being developed for interlinking the different energy sectors? And what new products are proving their worth in the marketplace? Answers to these questions and more can be found in Munich at SMA’s booth (B3.210) in Hall 3.

Commercial PV systems: interlinking heat, electricity, mobility and storage systems

ennexOS: Combined with the new Sunny Design Pro and Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS, the Data Manager M energy manager, which is based on the ennexOS energy management platform, now opens up new opportunities for commercial enterprises looking to generate their own solar power and optimize their energy consumption. For the first time, system planners can plan commercial systems across all sectors, simulate operations and calculate overall costs for the system. Electric power generators and appliances, battery storage systems and thermal components such as heaters and heat pumps are taken into account. The ennexOS energy management platform has also been nominated for the Smarter E AWARD. We’ve got our fingers crossed.

SMA Sunny Tripower 3.0/4.0/5.0/6.0

More power for residential PV systems

The SMA Power+ Solution ensures that PV system operators always benefit from maximum solar power yields – for example with the new Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0. Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0 is the smallest three-phase inverter offered by SMA and weighs just 17 kg. The SMA Smart Connected service integrated in the inverter automatically notifies operators whenever a fault occurs, allowing problems to be fixed more quickly and easily than ever before. If certain modules in a PV system are slightly shaded, the TS4-R smart module technology provides additional support. The optimizers are installed only on the affected modules. The communication required for this is already integrated in the new Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0.

Sunny Highpower PEAK3

Top 3 for PV power plants

1. Sunny Highpower PEAK3: This new inverter with an output of up to 150 kW is used in decentralized PV power plants with 1,500 V DC. It enables flexible planning, fast project implementation and straightforward servicing.

2. Sunny Central 3000-EV: This central inverter operates at full power even at temperatures of up to 35°C and reduces system costs in large-scale PV power plants by 10%. Integrated in the Medium Voltage Station, two Sunny Central 3000-EV systems in a turnkey container – including a medium-voltage transformer and switchgear – generate an output of 6,000 kW.

3. SMA Power Plant Manager: Thanks to its flexible data and signal interfaces, the new SMA Power Plant Manager enables easy system integration on the basis of the new ennexOS energy management platform. PV system operators benefit from reliable system operation and efficient maintenance functions.

Sunny Boy Storage 3.7-6.0

Battery inverters in all applications

1. Sunny Boy Storage 3.7-6.0: For homeowners looking to use even more self-generated energy themselves with the aid of a battery-storage system, the new Sunny Boy Storage 3.7-6.0 battery inverter allows up to three high-voltage batteries from different manufacturers to be integrated.

2. Sunny Tripower Storage: The new three-phase battery inverter allows high-voltage batteries to be integrated into commercial and industrial PV storage systems with outputs of up to 1 MW. This allows users to optimize their load flows and save on costs of purchasing electricity.

3. Sunny Central Storage: As part of the SMA storage solution for large-scale PV applications, this battery inverter – which has been nominated for the ees AWARD – ensures the intelligent, grid-connected integration of megawatt-class storage systems with and without PV systems.
