Less is more: Production of the new Sunny Boy 240

Today you get an exclusive preview in to the production of the new micro inverter from SMA, the Sunny Boy 240. When developing the inverter, we focused on the essentials. This means that we combined components, thereby doing away with entire assemblies. As a result, the device contains just 176 high-quality components, approx. 50 percent fewer than competitor products. Furthermore at 19 cm wide, 22 cm high and 4 cm deep, the micro inverter’s enclosure is just about the size of a box of chocolates. Additionally, there are absolutely non screw joints needed to assemble the device.
