Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to take a look back and forward.
For SMA, 2015 was a year with a lot of highs and lows. Right at the beginning, we heard the news that our founder and solar pioneer Günther Cramer had died after a difficult illness. Just a short time later, we had to announce that we were in the red and had to lay off many great SMA employees.
The reorganization of the company cost us a lot of strength and unfortunately meant that we were unable to support you in the manner to which you were perhaps accustomed, especially in the summer months. We thank you again most sincerely for your understanding and your patience.
On the upside
Happily, things are now on the upswing. The outcome of the climate conference is also cause for optimism. The first concrete announcements from individual countries promise that words will be followed by deeds. India, for example, has announced a gigantic investment program and the U.S. has extended its solar subsidy program by 5 years.
Winter break from December 23, 2015, to January 3, 2016
On December 23, we will close our offices for the holidays. Please understand that you will not receive a response during this time. The SMA Service Line will also not be fully staffed. Unfortunately, inquiries will therefore be processed with a slight delay. The same applies to inquiries we receive via the SMA Online Service Center.
Thank you!
It only remains for us to say thank you. Thank you for your questions, comments, your criticism and your praise. We appreciate it greatly and hope that you will stick with us in 2016 as readers, fans and critics.
Thanks as well to all those who charmed us with their amazing #solarselfies, they were all great. Make sure to take a look at our advent calendar video if you missed the campaign on Facebook.
We wish you a peaceful and reflective holiday season to recharge your batteries. Here’s to a successful and healthy 2016.
Best wishes,
Julia, Sarah and Leonie
